[SF] Shadow Mage: Drawing Capabilities

Saving my favorite for last! Shadow Mages of Shadow Era have often been consider the weaker faction because they generally relied on a later game style deck, while humans relied on a faster deck. The Shadow Mages in Call of the Crystals and Dark Prophecies typically revolved around Tome of Knowledge, Shadow Knight and Sacrificial Lamb. Shattered Fates bring lots of new toys that work really well including new Undead tribal things, Amulet of Conjuring and Flameforged Gauntlets. In additional, Gravebone received some boost with Crystal Shards and Falseblood Cultist.

[SF] Human Mage: Drawing Capabilities

Human Mages are consistently one of the Top Decks of Shadow Era. Mainly they tend to be of the rush variant and they have tons of draw options to support this. Tome of Knowledge has consistently been one of the top draw engines for Mages for all expansions. Call of the Crystals and Dark Prophecies also used lots of Bad Santa and occasionally splashed Honored Dead as well as Treasured Heirloom. Shattered Fates brings a new tool in Amulet of Conjuring which really speed the flow of draw cards to the hand. In remains to be determined whether Amulet will remain in its current form or if it will receive some nerf as we move closer to completing the set.

[SF] Priest: Drawing Capabilities

For our (pre) Halloween release we are blessing you night with the Priests. The Priests drawing has evolved with each expansion of Shadow Era. Call of the Crystals revolved around Tainted Oracle and Wizent’s Staff, Dark Prophecies brought new tools like Forgiveness and Elizabeth Winterborn, and recently Shattered Fates brings Scriptures of the Righteous and Glass Chalice of Knowing both which seem to have replaced all the other draw options.

[SF] Wulven: Draw Capabilities

Aaaaaaoooooowwwwwww!!!!! Who doesn’t like wolves? These guys have lots of variety for draw but in general they revolve around the pack (allies) as seen with Bloodpack Shaman as well as armor like Wrath of the Forest. However the primary draw engine is Blood Moon which has one of my favorite arts in the game.

[SF] Human Hunter: Draw Capabilities

Hunters have such a wide variety of draw options, including class specific in every category except allies. In earlier expansions, Bazaar was a favorite of Solo-Gwen helping her to dig for stall cards while she went for the throat, and Victor used Tainted Oracle and Treasured Heirloom for burst drawing. SF bring some new toys but all the Hunters love Hunters Gambit.

SHADOW ERA

Current Expansion: SHATTERED FATES

Victor Heartstriker – 4SE: Target opposing ally is reduced to 1 health. Return the top Hunter card from your graveyard to your hand.

Serena: Robber Paradise

This is a deck and write-up from BP Chamthabo, originally posted to the forum, and reposted here with his permission.  He is one of my favorite rogue players to watch and has done some great things with his Serena deck. This deck helped to change my opinion of Wily Smuggler and Spirit Shuriken and has shown me how useful those cards can really be.  Here is BP Chamthabo’s write-up of the deck:

As I think I will switch to another hero, I decide to post my Serenaicon deck. This deck brought me to maximum 335 rating (before droping rapidly due to a lot of DC) and gave me 13 win streak(including some MS and ravager). New cutlass is so fun I often use my opponent’s cards to win my game.

[SF] Vess: Here Be Wulven (Resource Control / Wulven)

Recently I have been revisiting the idea of Resource Control decks as part of my game plan. Baduruu has always been the top Hero in Shadow Era to run a Resource Destruction build, so I began trying to look at why he can execute this so well. In my opinion, Baduruu, is able to execute a Resource Destruction / Control build because of the tempo he gains from his hero ability. He is able to maintain low resources, yet play powerful weapons to help him control the board. Vess Swifthands can be used in a similar fashion as detailed below.
