[SF] Logan “Death Manipulator”

With a recent update to Shattered Fates Expansion of Shadow Era the Undead Armor Charred Cowl of the Damned was removed from the hunter class card pool and added to the Warrior Class Card pool. I decided to give this new pairing a try together and this is what I’ve come up with. Logan has always taken life away but now with his new Cowl he gives life to the Undead Alignment too.

[SF – 2.92] Bloodfang Wulven Buddy System

I’ve been really busy working with the Players Focus Group (PFG) to balance the upcoming release of Lands Lost Expansion so please forgive me that it has been a while since my last deck post.

There was a recent update to Shattered Fates Expansion of Shadow Era in which Bloodpack Shaman received a rejig:

Bloodpack Shaman – Ability changed to “When Bloodpack Shaman is summoned, target Wulven ally in your graveyard except Bloodpack Shaman is returned to your hand.” (from “When Bloodpack Shaman is summoned while every ally in your graveyard is a Wulven ally, target Wulven ally in your graveyard with cost 3 or less is returned to your hand.”).

This particular change was interesting to me as I quite enjoy playing with Bloodfang but have really had zero success with the “OP Shaman Looping”. The Shaman rejig fits my playstyle quite a bit more so I decide testing was going to be quite enjoyable and it is.

[SF] Lance “Swift Silent Strike of the Templar”

Recently I have been playing around with the recent change to Confluence of Fate. I always heard that Attachment Lance was a good deck and play style but it never really interested me before. As I was looking through the attachments I see that lots of the Rogue attachments are cheap they also provide a cantrip, and there is also the very inexpensive and aggressive Strength of Conviction which greatly benefits the Templars so I was now infinitely curious.

[SF] Bloodfang “Wulven Necromancer” (Undead/Wulven Hybrid)

Shatter Fates expansion of Shadow Era has brought to us many new Heroes. In my continuing adventures to find unlikely pairings that actually work together I attempted to match Bloodfang with a non-Wulven alliance. Bloodfang’s ability forces him to play with Wulven allies to max the potential of his Shadow Energy ability creating a great challenge for me. I decide pairing him with Undead would be a good test since they are easily the most developed and synergistic tribes.

[SF] Piraxix: Advancing Discarded Army

Prior to trying the following Piraxix deck out I had previously only played him about 2 times over the course of the last year. Piraxix is not one of those heroes that particularly interest me, so I though I would try something different with him from what everybody else was doing. This deck does not seek to mill the opponent but instead uses a combination of a steady stream of allies, cantrip drawing, as well as other on summon and on discard effects to control the board and win the game.

[SF] Gravebone “Scorched Earth”

This is the deck I would have used had I been able to participate in the Shadow Era World Championships of 2014. Ultimately this deck is tuned to my play style and how I wanted to approach the Qualifier events. I started with my Gravebone: Undead Necromancer build and transitioned in some other cards that could help me in various matchups.

buqs [SF v2.88] Demolition Derby (Ravager Guide)

Recent Shadow Era up version 2.86 during the Shattered Fates Expansion did a complete overhaul of the Ravager Tribe. They transitions from standard +1/+1 boring growth pattern to a more aggressive +2/+0 growth pattern. This is actually a huge change which dramatically changes their playability as a tribe in general. The update also brings in a new 2cc ally creating even more flexibility the build. The Ravagers are still a very much a combo oriented tribe, however since the update they rely a bit less on the combos in order to maintain their strategies. In addition to being combo oriented the Tribe also represents a lot of the new game cost mechanic Sustain (read more here) to help offset some of the tremendous strength of the tribe. I personally enjoy the tribe much more and have come to appreciate them through studying them. Continue reading

[SF] Baduruu: Controlled Destruction (Ravager)

This is a lightly tested pairing of Baduruu and the Ravager Tribe. In creating this deck the goal was just to test the waters to find some synergies for this pairing. I was surprised to find they work fairly well together despite having to include weapons and Ravager things in the same deck. Obviously since the Ravager tribe did not really exist prior the latest Shadow Era expansion most cards belong to Shattered Fates.

[SF] Shadow Mage: Drawing Capabilities

Saving my favorite for last! Shadow Mages of Shadow Era have often been consider the weaker faction because they generally relied on a later game style deck, while humans relied on a faster deck. The Shadow Mages in Call of the Crystals and Dark Prophecies typically revolved around Tome of Knowledge, Shadow Knight and Sacrificial Lamb. Shattered Fates bring lots of new toys that work really well including new Undead tribal things, Amulet of Conjuring and Flameforged Gauntlets. In additional, Gravebone received some boost with Crystal Shards and Falseblood Cultist.
